If your a PCOS victim what would you choose?
Well I was diAgnosed with PCOS and my gynecologist prescribed me oral progesterone to see if I do get my period. My ultrasound and pap smear came out fine. I have irregular periods in which I haven’t had my period since September of last year. I heard fertilaid regulates period and it’s beneficial for ovulatiing and so on. what should I take better?? I’m only 17. Thnks!
People with PCOS are not ‘victims’. They are ‘patients.’
At 17 the main concern with PCOS is:
1. Having at least occassional periods (so your endometrium doesn’t build up for months and cause erratic spotting and bloating)
2. Dealing with any endocrine and weight issues (keeping your blood sugar balanced, Losing Weight if necessary)
For the former, depending on your preference and your general medical history, the doctor might recommend a course of provera every 3-4 months to trigger a period, or regular birth control pills.
Fertilaid is just a vitamin supplement — it won’t cure your PCOS or make you ovulate.
When you are an adult and married and ready to have a child, you’d go back to your doctor and discuss fertility treatments.
